Embedding YouTube videos on a website is always a data privacy minefield. I have been playing with different options and think I have found one that works around all of the possible issues.

The main idea is to only show a placeholder instead and give a visitor three options:

• watch the video on YouTube
• watch the video locally by embedding it into the page
• get more details about data privacy at YouTube

Here is my solution for now. It might still need some cleaning up, but it seems to work fine.
